Guanajuato is a state in the central highlands of Mexico. It shares its name with its capital and main city, Guanajuato, Guanajuato. Guanajuato means "hill of frogs" in the local indigenous language, because the local Tarascan Indians believed that the frog represented the god of wisdom.

About Guanajuato

The setting of the city is very beautiful: is stands in a narrow gorge amid wild and striking scenery. The streets are steep and narrow - some so narrow that it is possible to exchange kisses from opposite balconies, this is where the Callejon del Beso takes its name from. The La Bufa mountain looms over the city.

The main sight in town is the Alhondiga de Granadita A granary that was converted into a fortress and which now houses a series of museums. There are a few interesting colonial churches in town as well, the best ones being the San Francisco -dating from 1671- the San Diego -from 1663- and the La Venalciana 5 km out of the centre in one of the mining areas.

A rather peculiar sight is the Museo de las Momias - a museum with mummies. Christmas in Guanajuato is an unforgettable experience that is worth experiencing to the full. This is the time of the traditional callejoneadas, when the lively tunes of student music groups fill the night air. One of the most important events in Mexico is undoubtedly the International Cervantes Festival, which originated in 1952, with the presentation of the Entremeses Cervantinos in the Plaza de San Roque. If you are interested in seeing this festival or any other of the city’s events, Guanajuato one of the easiest states to reach because of its broad network of highways and international airport in the city of León.

In the Intensive course you will have 4 Spanish classes from Monday to Friday in groups of a maximum of 8 students. If you need to advance more quickly in oral communication we recommend you go for the Super- Intensive course, with 2 extra daily classes based on oral and written communication practice.

In addition, you have the option of attending an extra and completely free daily class covering different topics of cultural interest. We know that for a language course to be successful, it is not enough to offer excellent teaching. Other factors, such as socio-cultural aspects, also play an important part in its success.

One to One 05 lessons/week

If you do not have much time and wish to make the most of it, you can follow your own pace of learning with a personalized course. This means that neither you nor the teacher need follow the pace and interests of your fellow students,as in any other group course. You can also choose a mixed option: group class on an Intensive course + individual classes.

We will continue to advise you right until the end. Firstly, we analyze your individual goals and then create a personalized program adapted to you with regard to content, timetable and additional activities such as company visits and cultural tours and excursions.
